A flurry of rumors Wednesday morning had RBNY closing on the signing of French left fullback Jason Pendant from Ligue 2 side Sochaux.
The 23-year old Pendant, who holds Vietnamese dual citizenship, made 31 appearances in the French second division for Sochaux last season and has made 17 so far this campaign, including several stints as team captain.
If signed, Pendant would be an obvious replacement for Kemar Lawrence and allow a more extended seasoning period for rookie Patrick Seagrist, who went the full 90 at left back in the 3-2 win over Cincinnati on Sunday.
