Florian Valot named to 2017 USL Team of Week for Week 26

The midfielder’s 2 goals in the 4-2 defeat earned him Team of the Week honors

For the third time in three weeks New York Red Bulls II had a player selected to a 2017 USL Team of the Week. Florian Valot made his second Team of the Week this year with his selection into the USL Team of the Week for Week 26. Valot scored two goals and completed 32 of 40 passes in NYRB II’s 4-2 defeat against FC Cincinnati last weekend.

Valot is one of four players for NYRB II that has been selected to multiple starting lineups for the USL Team of the Week as he joined Stefano Bonomo, Junior Flemmings and Vincent Bezecourt. For NYRB II it’s the 19th time a player has been selected to a USL TOTW.

Valot’s two goals gave him four goals in his last five games and brought his total to five on the year. He is also second on the team in chances created with 47, only Bezecourt has more. Valot’s form could play a big part in the final four games for NYRB II as they look to qualify for the playoffs.

NYRB II will look to get back on track when they return home for their final home game of the regular season as they take on Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The game will take place on Saturday, September 30, at 4:00 pm.
