The New York Red Bulls drew FC Dallas 0-0, marking the first time RB was held scoreless this season. Normally, it's an offensive player leading the way, but this time a clean sheet helped add points on the defensive side. Here are the team's top players from Friday night:
Luis Robles (GK, 8 points): Robles gathered two saves and tallied his third clean sheet of the season. He was solid between the pipes all night. However, the save of the night came from Felipe Martins when a well-hit ball got past Robles but Martins was in the right place at the right time to clear it off the line.
Damien Perrinelle (DEF, 7 points): Perrinelle would have matched Robles' point total if it weren't for a yellow card in the first half. He and Karl Ouimette were able to contain Blas Perez all game and keep FCD off the board. Also, he did a great job helping Chris Duvall cover the speedy Castillo.
Kemar Lawrence (DEF, 7 points): Lawrence has earned his spot as a starter at left back by continuing his physical style and speed to throw off attackers from gaining an advantage. He shut down the FCD counter before they could get into a flow.
RBNY will host the Philadelphia Union next Sunday at 5pm. The Red Bulls will look to climb higher in the standings as they should be considered favorites against their I-95 rivals.
