Simon Jones of The Daily Mail is reporting that Manchester United (some club in England) is looking at Matthew Olosunde of the New York Red Bulls Academy.
Manchester United are taking a look at New York Red Bulls prospect Matt Olosunde.
The 16-year-old defender from Trenton, New Jersey, can play centre-back and right-back and is training with United in the hope of impressing coaching staff.
Olosunde has been part of the USA junior squads since he was 13 and is expected to be part of their squad at the U17 World Cup in Chile in October.
Olosunde can also play winger.
He spent the 2014-2015 season in residency at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida with the U-17 national team.
If fans are wondering where all of this attention is potentially coming from, he put in a dominant performance at the Nike Friendlies in November and December. And American players who put in a dominant performance at the Nike Friendlies tend to get a lot of attention from foreign clubs.
I guess we'll wait and see how legitimate this interest is. Manchester United is currently on tour in America and has played matches in Washington and California.
