Former New York Red Bulls' homegrown player Sacir Hot is currently coach of Garden State Soccer League outfit FC Motown. On Sunday, October 16, the Morristown-based club took on Lansdowne Bhoys in the second qualifying round of the 2017 US Open Cup.

It was, technically, Coach Hot's second USOC fixture of this campaign and his coaching career, but FC Motown's first qualifying round match was a forfeit win over Ny Greek American SC. Against Lansdowne Bhoys, Motown had its first actual soccer match of USOC 2017.

The game started well for Motown...

...got better...

...and then Lansdowne got back into it...

...and swiftly followed that with a penalty...

...which was saved...

...followed by another penalty that was not saved.

All square after 88 minutes and it appeared to those following along on Twitter that the momentum had shifted toward the more experienced club. Lansdowne Bhoys made a positive impression in the 2016 USOC, and presumably had the wherewithal to kick on and find a winner.

They never got the chance.

FC Motown advances to the third qualifying round, but will have to wait for the current round to play out before knowing its next opponent. USOC 2017 second qualifying round matches continue next weekend.

Sacir Hot and FC Motown will be waiting for one of the winners in November.
