New York Red Bulls appoint NYCFC exec to senior communications role

RBNY is raiding its neighbor's front office again.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

First reported by Seeing Red Daily about a week ago, the New York Red Bulls have hired Jayne Bussman-Wise as Senior Director, Content and Communications.

An experienced digital and social media sports marketing exec, Bussman-Wise has worked in and around New York sports for several years. The club's official release on her appointment lists stints with the New York Rangers, Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center, and most recently, New York City FC.

Once A Metro is advised Bussman-Wise is taking on a new role in the RBNY organization, one that reflects a refreshed strategy for the club's digital and social media content.

She also happens to be at least the second significant hire to join RBNY's front office from rival NYCFC. The Red Bulls' Chief Commercial Officer, Amy Scheer, was lured away from NYCFC toward the end of 2015. If nothing else, the arrival of a second MLS team in New York has perhaps made it a little easier for the Red Bulls to identify qualified candidates for jobs requiring an understanding of New York and MLS.
