Results haven’t been great for Panama this year: Los Canaleros have lost nine of 12 games in 2018 and won only once. But this was the year the Panama men’s national team appeared at a World Cup for the first time, so it should be remembered fondly by fans regardless.
Los Canaleros will look to close out a year of rich memories and poor results with a win at home against Ecuador. La Tricolor warmed up for this game with a 2-0 win over Peru in Lima, so should perhaps be regarded as favorite.
But Panama will hope to give their fans something to cheer at the end of an auspicious year in the country’s soccer history. New York Red Bulls defenders Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar played the full 90 minutes of Los Canaleros’ 1-0 loss to Honduras in Tegucigalpa last week, but are considered likely to start again for this match.
Per livesoccertv.com, this won’t be the easiest game to watch from the USA. But it shouldn’t be too hard to find updates on Twitter.
