The top teams in Group F square off in the match that should settle the question of which side will advance from the group to the Qualification Stage of the 2018 CONCACAF Men’s U-20 Championship.

Guatemala qualified for last year’s CONCACAF U-20 Championship, but was denied entry because its national federation was suspended - and its teams suspended from international competitions - by FIFA in 2016 due to accusations of political interference by the Guatemalan government with its national soccer set-up. So it is a measure of progress that Guatemala’s stalled national team programs have returned to international tournaments at all.

El Salvador is the top seed in Group F, but Guatemala will surely be keen to assert its newly-restored presence in regional soccer.
