The Panama men’s national team has won just one game in 2018: a March friendly against Trinidad and Tobago. Nonetheless, Los Canaleros celebrated their first ever appearance at a World Cup this year, so this year will perhaps be remembered fondly by Panama fans regardless.
Still, it would surely be pleasing to close out 2018 with a positive result. Panama has two friendlies scheduled for November - against Honduras in Tegucigalpa on November 16, and against Ecuador in Panama City on November 20.
Two New York Red Bulls have been ever-present in the Panama squad this year: Michael Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar. Unsurprisingly, both have been named to the roster for Los Canaleros’ November matches.
Before they head off to help their country, however, they’ll hope to help their club extend its season. RBNY plays the second leg of its 2018 MLS Eastern Conference semifinal series against Columbus Crew on November 11.
