El Salvador has won Group F. Guyana has won no games at this U-20 Championship, and is not expected to win this one.
Though El Salvador has won every game it has played to date at this tournament, the team has been less dominant and more efficient: 2-1 wins over Guatemala and Curacao and a 3-1 win over Cayman Islands. Guyana has found some attacking form, scoring five in the two games since it was shutout by Guatemala in its group-stage opener.
So while there appears little hope of an upset in this game, it may prove a pleasingly competitive tussle for the neutral observer. Not least because Guyana’s last two games have been shoot-outs: losses to the Cayman Islands by the odd goal in five and to Curacao by the odd goal in seven.
