Aurelien Collin receives U.S. green card, opens up INT’L roster spot for Red Bulls

The Red Bulls defender is all smiles after receiving his permanent residency in the United States.

New York Red Bulls defender Aurelien Collin is now the proud owner of a United States I-485 Permanent Residency, better known as a green card.

On Monday Collin took to Twitter to announce that he and his wife had received their green cards (and were celebrating at the restaurant Delicias De Minas in Newark).

More importantly for the Red Bulls’ roster situation, Collin’s newly-acquired green card will free up the international roster slot that he was occupying this season, allowing the team the option of moving midfielder Florian Valot to the first-team on a full-time basis or even acquiring a brand new foreign player - such as Ignacio Pussetto.

Collin joins Bradley Wright-Phillips and Carlos Rivas as Red Bulls expatriates with permanent residency.
