The Red Bulls will need to do something they haven't done since April if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive: win in back-to-back matches. Earlier in the season, an October fixture against Toronto FC may have seemed like a likely three points, especially after New York trounced the Reds 5-0 at home in July. However, Toronto FC made a number of changes to its roster bringing in Torsten Frings and Danny Koevermans over the summer, and has been playing well as of late besides last weekend's 3-0 loss to Juan Pablo Angel Chivas USA.
The Red Bulls will be without Carlos Mendes and Mehdi Ballouchy due to injury and visa difficulties, respectively.
New York's starting eleven will look like:
-------------------Rost-----------------------
--Solli-----Keel-----Ream------Miller-----
Richards--Marquez--Tainio--Lindpere
-----------Henry-----Rodgers--------------
Bouna Coundoul, Matt Kassel, Dax McCarty, Brian Nielsen, and Juan Agudelo will start out on the bench. The reserves played this morning so Backe elected to go with less than eighteen players tonight.
This one is on Fox Soccer Channel tonight so don't fret if you flip on MSG and don't see soccer. Kickoff is at 7:30 EST.
