Why Tim Ream should be ROY and mid-week thoughts

Tim Ream has played every single minute of every single game for the New York Red Bulls at central defense. If you are not impressed by that then maybe you should be impressed to who he is stepping in front of. A New York legend Mike Petke and the now designated "2nd captain" Carlos Mendes. He recently scored his first goal, although he should have had it a few games ago when he volleyed a ball in the box as it dipped and swirled its way to the net, Sean Johnson, future USA starter punched it away.

Tim Ream, along with getting his first goal and playing every minute has been consistent. Yes, hes made some mistakes but its not like the team will not give up any goals in the season. It happens to the best defenders. With the recent injury to Danny Mwanga,

Star-divide

Tim Ream has done everything right to cement his place as MLS ROY. Also, when I am at the Red Bull games, Tim Ream is one of the most exciting players. His vision on long passes and dribbling skills are valuable skills and ones that you don't usually see with such young players. The thing that makes that all possible I feel is the confidence he has to invite an attacker to the ball, only to fake one way, pass the other and start a perfect counter attack through the other midfield.

The win last weekend was great. The three goals were perfectly executed and Joel Lindpere's assist to Thierry Henry was nothing short of amazing. I seriously thought I was watching Barcelona and having TH14 was all a dream. With all the activity the Red Bulls have had lately, if they can sure up at least a tie and a win not in that order against Dallas and LA, we should be in great form for the playoffs.

Rafa Marquez should be rested. He has played three games (two for his country) in the last week. A sprain is usually okay to run around on, but with his recent workload, he needs to take a match off and be healthy for the Galaxy game and run to form in the playoffs. The one thing I am scared of is our dependence on him in the midfield, If he is to sit out, Tchani needs to take his game to a new level and fill the large gap as best he can.
