Rowe Suspended After Colliding With Meara

Ryan Meara probably had a rougher day at the office than the rest of the Red Bulls in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the New England Revolution.

First, he picked up a knock early on after coming aggressively off his line to make a save. Then, he gets kneed in the head by fellow rookie Kelyn Rowe.

MLSsoccer.com, take it away...

Rowe, in pursuit of an 87th-minute through ball from Shalrie Joseph, got to the play a step after Meara and made no attempt to pull out of the challenge. He ended up clipping Meara in the head with his right leg before going down in a heap. The Revs eventually won 2-0.

Rowe gets one game one game and a fine for his indiscretion.

Here's the video of the event in question. Unfortunately, we get the Revs feed, not MSG's, so we miss out on Shep Messing's keeper-leaning analysis.

Meara shook off the knee, just like his knock early on. Nothing out of Red Bulls camp suggests he'll be sidelined, like half of the rest of the team, for this weekend's game against the Seattle Sounders.

But then again, the Bulls take the field for practice for the first time since Sunday's game tomorrow.
