Lineup Prediction: New York Red Bulls vs Columbus Crew

Does Jesse give his regular starters a shot at redemption?

Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

After last week's humbling at home by Orlando, will Jesse Marsch give some fresh faces a chance to impress in the New York Red Bulls' starting lineup?

Doubtful. Marsch has tended to allow the regular starters the chance to bounce back from a disappointing result, and that approach has served the coach well in terms of building unity in his RBNY squad. He will, however, be forced to make one change: Matt Miazga is on international duty, and Ronald Zubar is expected to start in his stead.

Further forced changes may lie ahead: RBNY has another home game on Wednesday, October 7; international call-ups may impact player availability for that match and the October 14 trip to Toronto; Felipe is one yellow card away from a suspension. Lineup changes could be necessary in the not-too-distant future, but Marsch tends to favor continuity with what has been a generally successful set of starters - and this might be his last chance to enjoy that continuity for a little while. Expect to see the familiar faces in the starting lineup against the Columbus Crew.
