One way or another, the rumor mill wants 'Dinho in America.

Never a dull moment when the rumor mill has a chance to throw around some stories about Ronaldinho. He is not even a week into life as an ex-Fluminense player, and we are already on to our second significant rumor linking 'Dinho to a move to the USA.

The first involved California-based amateurs Corinthians USA and US Open Cup. Now the Brazilian is linked to a return to the club he just left - Fluminense - as part of its squad for the Florida Cup, a January exhibition tournament staged in Orlando for teams seeking to combine winter sun with some exposure of their brand to the US market.

The 2015 Florida Cup featured Corinthians, Fluminense, FC Koln, and Bayer Leverkusen (Koln won). The 2016 edition is expected to feature Corinthians, Fluminense, Internacional, Atletico Mineiro, Schalke 04, Bayer Leverkusen, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Colombian outfit Santa Fe.

Band.com.br reports 'Dinho's brother and agent, Assis, provided confirmation of the story:

Very likely that Ronaldo play the Florida Cup by Fluminense. The club made the call and he accepted.

If the plan goes ahead, it would put Ronaldinho in Florida from roughly January 9 to January 21. Since Florida Cup is a friendly tournament, and Corinthians USA - the team hoping to lure 'Dinho into a US Open Cup campaign - is an amateur team, there's no particular reason why the player couldn't indulge BOTH rumors currently linking him to time in the USA.

For his part, 'Dinho can be presumed to be recovering from an unfortunate mishap involving his car and a fan with a very poor sense of when it is appropriate to ask a sporting hero to join you in a snapshot:

All the best, 'Dinho. And maybe we'll see you State-side shortly.
