Shawn McLaws wins OaM's RBNY Goal of the Month Award for April 2015

The second-ever winner of the RBNY Goal of the Month vote is the first-ever player to win with a goal scored for NYRB II.

April brought 11 goals for the New York Red Bulls and NYRB II. We whittled them down to four contenders for Goal of the Month. YOU, dear readers, decided the winner.

And the winner is Shawn McLaws!

RBNY's third-round 2015 SuperDraft pick announced himself to fans with this solo effort against Toronto FC II back on April 4 (tune around the 0:24 mark):

The goal attracted 36% of votes cast, beating out Mike Grella's effort against San Jose Earthquakes (24%), Anatole Abang's strike against TFC II (21%), and Felipe's lucky face-shot against LA Galaxy (18%).

Congrats, Shawn McLaws! RBNY Goal of the Month winner for April.

The 22-year-old Red Bull right back joins Mike Grella in our OaM Goal of the Month club.
