The last game of the group stage of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup sees Curacao still seeking its first goal and first point of the tournament. A goal is not an unreasonable expectation for the Caribbean side, but it is not expected to beat Mexico.
For El Tri, the task is simply to win by whatever margin necessary to clinch top spot in Group C - though the draw has been kind to Mexico and slipping to the runner-up position would merely bring it a not-at-all frightening quarterfinal against Canada.
The teams expected to genuinely test the B-team that Mexico has sent to this Gold Cup are all in the other half of the draw in the knockout rounds. The USA, Costa Rica, and Panama will scrap for the right to play - it is assumed - El Tri in the final.
For now, Mexico is expected to keep winning, and keep progressing toward the chance ti defend its Gold Cup title.
