New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United contest the 2018 MLS Eastern Conference Final over two legs: in Atlanta on November 25; at Red Bull Arena on November 29.

This match-up is arguably the true final of this year’s MLS Cup: RBNY won the Supporters’ Shield with an all-time MLS-best points total - 71; Atlanta was second in the league table with a points total that matched MLS’ previous points record - 69.

Fair to say, perhaps, that no two teams have ever had such successful MLS regular seasons and met in the playoffs. And if that’s not fair to say, OaM will say it anyway.

RBNY vs Atlanta United is not going to determine the winner of this year’s MLS Cup - it’ll just feel that way because this is the final the league deserves: the two best teams over the course of the year going head-to-head to see which is better in November.
