Luke Rodgers' 10 goals in 23 appearances in his first year stateside earned him Newcomer of the Year finalist honors.
The Englishman is up against Vancouver Whitecaps forward Eric Hassli and Seattle Sounders midfielder Mauro Rosales. The winner will be announced Nov. 15.
This has to be a two man race. Hassli scored some brilliant, brilliant goals this season, but Rosales and Rodgers were both extremely important to their teams this season. The Red Bulls had a solitary win without Rodgers in the line-up and the Sounders fell to Real Salt Lake in the MLS Cup Conference Semifinals without Rosales in the starting XI.
