In an effort to introduce a new generation to soccer, the Disney Channel announced today that Regiment 1312, a New York City FC ultras supporters group, will appear on the popular children's television show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Regiment 1312, whose motto is "Drink. Dance. Shag and Fight," will teach kids the importance of doing your homework, taking your vitamins and getting good exercise. The ultras will feature in a segment where they will play a pick-up game of soccer withMickey, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and their lovable mechanical assistant, Toodles.
Razor "Homicide" Johnson, the group's leader is thrilled. "Instead of my usual ‘Oi! Oi!Oi!' this time I'll be chanting, ‘Meeska. Mooska. Mickey Mouse,'" he gleefully quippedwhile throwing up a gang symbol and grabbing his crotch.
Johnson says the group--whose neck tattoos, brass knuckles and criminal records would generally turn off parents of toddlers--relish these types of opportunities. "Last year, we appeared at a few birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese's and on a few local news segments demonstrating the best ways to make your holidays more ultra," Johnson toldOnce a Metro. "When we're not cracking skulls of those pink cow jersey scum, we like some good, clean family fun."
Ben Sherwood, Head of Disney/ABC Television Group is thrilled. "I was drawn to these guys when I saw their lovely posts on Facebook. All they talk about is how you should be loyal to your family and never turn your back on them. What great, universal lessons to teach our children!"
The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode featuring Regiment 1312 will air in July.
