Terrence Boyd will get a shot at playing in the Bundesliga. The 25-year-old has joined bottom-of-the-table Darmstadt in a deal the club states will run to June 2018.

The rumor mill had suggested Boyd would be a Huddersfield Town player, and he also took the time to visit the New York Red Bulls. But severe injury issues meant the Bremen-born forward was never able to contribute to RB Leipzig's rise to the upper end of the Bundesliga table. Perhaps the opportunity to play in Germany's top division - albeit for a relegation-threatened club - was too good to pass up.
Talks with Darmstadt had been reported to have been unsuccessful - by no less a source than Darmstadt head coach Torsten Frings. Clearly a second round of negotiations was more positive.
