Mexico doesn't lose a lot of games at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship and the USA just snapped a 20-game unbeaten streak that El Tri had going at this tournament, so maybe it's a little much to think Mexico might lose twice in a row.
Still, if Mexico doesn't win this game, then the USA is guaranteed a top-two finish in its Classification Stage group and will be qualified for the 2017 FIFA World Cup.
The Americans can and should expect to have something to play for against El Salvador on March 3 (it will be the game that decides if the USA gets to the CONCACAF Championship final, at the very least), but upsets have become the norm in this tournament. And El Salvador has already surprised Costa Rica in this competition. El Tri, especially with pride and World Cup prospects wounded, is a different proposition - but this game has significance for USA fans, as well as those of the two teams actually playing in it.
