As noted by Once A Metro's Jake Evans, the New York Red Bulls announced a restructuring of their youth development program about...well, it was 424 days ago as of April 18.
At the time, it was stated the RBNY Academy's respected and long-serving director, Bob Montgomery, would transition to a new role: Director of Coaching Education and Youth Partnerships. "The search for a new academy director will begin immediately," read the official statement released on February 28, 2016.
Since then, not a word from the club on the subject of its next academy director. Bob Montgomery is still a visible presence at the club, but it is OaM's understanding he has not returned to his former position.
This would at least explain why RBNY hasn't issued a statement about the Academy Director position since it was vacated in February, 2016: there is nothing for the club to report. Yet.
