Luyindula Ready For the Weekend

With Henry out for Saturday's game, the Red Bulls are looking for solutions up top. New signing Peguy Luyindula could be one.

Looks like new signing Peguy Luyindula will be ready for Saturday.

With Thierry Henry nursing an MCL injury and a strong aversion to artificial turf, ahead of Saturday's game against the undefeated Montreal Impact, the former Pairs Saint-Germain striker could be a solutions for the Red Bulls up top.

When Luyindula signed earlier this week, there were questions as to whether or not he would be available, with the Frenchman needing to work out his visa before being eligible to play.

If Head Coach Mike Petke does give Luyindula the nod, it's not as if he's being thrown into the fire after stepping off the plane. Luyindula came into camp as a trialist this preseason and hasn't left has. No contract came, but Petke cited fitness concerns were holding the Red Bulls back from making a good judgment.

The other possible Henry-replacement is 17-year-old Amando Moreno, who Petke seems hesitant to throw into the fire, but has (reportedly) got some skills. Josue Martinez is another possibility, though he's been left off the bench the last two weekends. Petke could also opt to go with Fabian Espindola alone up top.
