Late this Friday evening the US Men's National Team lost 2-0 to Guatemala in Guatemala City.
They were pants.
A portrait of the USMNT in action tonight
On another note, the Frozen Four is coming soon. The NCAA hockey tournament started tonight and it has me fired up. The reigning national champions and number four seed, Providence Friars, went out in the first round to Minnesota-Duluth in an overtime thriller. Meanwhile, Boston College put in a dominant performance to move past Harvard with a 4-1 final score. The team that was "too good" for Hockey East, but, in reality, no one in Hockey East is sad to lose, in Notre Dame fell to the Michigan Wolverines, while North Dakota ran over Northeastern in a 6-2 win. It was an exciting Friday night and a good start to the tournament!
With players like Collin White, Alex Tuch, 'Boo' Nieves, Zach Werenski, Brock Boeser, and Will Borgen in the tournament it'll certainly be an exciting year. Yes, the tournament will suffer from lack of hype generated by a generational talent like Jack Eichel this year, but the play will be solid and it should be an exciting run to the Frozen Four.
As for that soccer game tonight, there may be some more serious analysis of it at some point, but frankly I don't think it deserves it. Go Eags!
