Didier Drogba wins MLS Goal of Week 30, Dax McCarty does not

Drogba completes a sweep of the league awards of offer in Week 30: TotW, PotW, PotM - and now, GotW.

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

Didier Drogba is enjoying a special start to his career in MLS: seven goals in six games; Montreal Impact undefeated since he first appeared in its starting lineup. He is the reigning MLS Player of the Month - and Player of the Week. And he's winning Goal of the Week votes for fun: this Week 30 effort picked up almost 43% of the vote.

Well done, Didier.

Dax McCarty was nominated for RBNY's latest memorable set piece (against Orlando) - and 6.46% of voters were swayed by the Red Bulls' impressively choreographed routine.

Next time, Dax. We suspect the Red Bulls have a few more tricks like that ready to deploy.

The New York Red Bulls play Columbus Crew SC in Week 31. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Red Bull Arena on October 3. (And if you have time, stick around for a bonus match after the main event.)
