Buy 'Em or Bag 'Em Week 21: The Bye Week That Wasn't

No MLS league action for RBNY, but plenty going on

Amount of Free Transfers this week: 2

The New York Red Bulls defeated Orlando City 2-0 and go into their bye week on a two-game winning streak.  But it's not really a bye.  Yes, you won't get any fantasy points for their efforts this coming week, but there still is a lot at stake for the team and its supporters.

The Red Bulls' next MLS game is against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday August 1st, which seems like a long way away.  However, they first have to take on.... the Philadelphia Union in the quarterfinals of the US Open Cup on Tuesday July 21st.  They follow that up THE NEXT DAY with an International Champions Cup match with Chelsea on Wednesday July 22nd, then another ICC match against Benfica on Sunday July 26th (the same day as the 2015 Gold Cup final).  All three of these games this week will be at Red Bull Arena.

According to the new CBA, teams cannot play two games within 24 hours of each other.  That is why the Open Cup matchup will be at 4pm on July 21st, then Chelsea will be at 8pm the following day.

So for this edition of Buy 'Em or Bag 'Em, you'll want to bag any RBNY players on your team as they will not get you points.  Be mindful that the Red Bulls have a Double Game Week for Week 23, so you may want to grab one or two in Week 22 do build for it.  We'll discuss that next week.

As for the rest of your fantasy team, it will be up to your discretion as no teams have a Double Game Week.  RBNY and the Colorado Rapids are the only teams with a bye week.  They were originally slated to play each other this week, but the game was moved up to April 29th to accommodate the ICC schedule.  The teams drew 1-1.
