How did I miss this Lloyd Sam interview from February?

Jennifer Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

It's about to get really sexy in here.

All the way back in February (which is, like, a billion years ago in internet time), New York Red Bulls winger Lloyd Sam did an interview with Galore.

What's Galore? According to their website, they're "a media brand for the modern bombshell, speaking to the edgy, sexy and creative woman in her 20's surrounding Style, Beauty, Pop, Sex + Dating." If that's not enough information for you, their Twitter account describes Galore as "Beauty, Bombshells & Girl Power."

Cool. Can I see a representation of said "girl power"?

A cake that says "Bitch." How... nice. I'm sure Mary Wollstonecraft and Jane Addams are very proud.

So, Galore interviewed Lloyd Sam, whom they describe as "the soccer player who looks as good off the field as he does on."

How do past girlfriends and hook-ups (meow) describe him?

They would say that I’m good company and when I need to be serious, I’m serious. And that I’m obsessed with playing Playstation. That’s what comes to mind, amongst other things…

What other things, Lloyd? WHAT. OTHER. THINGS.

What does it take for a girl to date the Englishman?

First, there has to be initial attraction. As I’ve gotten older, the chemistry we have on a day to day basis has gotten more and more important, it’s like the biggest thing- the chemistry that I have with someone else. Just the laughing and joking and fooling around, if a girl can’t make me laugh, forget about it. And just certain things are important like loyalty and reliability. You need to have someone that you know is going to be loyal. Initial attraction is important, but looks aren’t everything anymore. When I was about 24 or 25, I was pursuing girls for the wrong reasons, but now it’s changed a lot, it’s all about the chemistry.

And where would this potential dream girl run into the winger?

Restaurant wise I like to go to a place called Delicatessen, I like Serafina in Meatpacking. I like Tao, I’m often going to Tao restaurant and bar. Every now and then when we get a night off one of my spots would probably be PhD at the Dream Hotel or 1Oak, but that’s just when we get a few days off to go out.

I like to hang out at Five Guys and Dairy Queen, but if it's after ten, then I'll go to Taco Bell. Where's my fancy interview and photoshoot?

"Did you say photoshoot?"

That's right, I did!

Nice... picture frame.

Spot of tea, guvna!

New York is Red (shoes)!

Speaking of clothes and... not... clothes, how does he feel about them?

I like my jeans, I like my belts, I like my jackets. I do like sneakers, but I’m really just into fashion. Every time I have an opportunity to put clothes together it’s a big occasion, I like it. Everyday is a new opportunity to showcase and do something, it’s cool. I like dressing up and people on the team know that on match-day I’ll usually wear something kind of cool. You want to show up to the game looking the part, feeling the part, ready to play the game.

And every Red Bulls fan worth his or her salt knows the most important part of Sam's wardrobe.

Paws up, Little Monsters!

What else does Lloyd Sam like other than dating and fashion?

Food. I definitely spend a lot of money on food, I love my food. I love getting restaurant recommendations because there are so many places in the city you don’t get to go to. I guess when I go out I spend money, the occasional drink.

Oh my gosh! I love food too! I eat food all... the... time. We should be best friends!

Thank you, Lloyd Sam, for doing this interview and most of all for being you (and for dominating on the field). This has truly been an illuminating experience. And if you ever read this post (and why wouldn't you? Everybodyyyyyy reads what I write), then I completely understand why you never want to do an interview with Once a Metro.
