TopDrawerSoccer revealed their first Grande Sports Academy TeamRank 25 of the 2015-2016 season, and the New York Red Bulls are in the top 25 at the U-14, U-16, and U-18 age groups.
The U-14s, coached by Paul O'Donnell, are ranked first and are 2-0 so far this season in Metro Division play after wins over PA Classics (8-0) and Richmond United (5-1). They went a combined 19-2-6 last year, and brought in players from last year's Red Bulls U-13s team that won the National Premier League National Championship.
The U-16s, coached by Jeff Zaun, are also ranked first and sport a 3-0 record with wins over PA Classics (6-1), Richmond United (7-0), and D.C. United (5-1). The U-16s finished second in the country last season, losing to F.C. Dallas in the championship, 3-1. They return Zach Ryan and Omir Fernandez, who have combined for 11 goals so far this season.
The U-18s, coached by Simon Nee, are currently ranked 14th in the country after suffering a tough 5-1 loss to a loaded D.C. United team following wins over PA Classics (4-2) and Richmond United (3-0). The Red Bulls brought up the majority of last year's U-16 team and added a few local standouts including Mason Toye and Pierre Reedy, but they're a young team and will take some time to adjust to their new age group.
All three Development Academy teams are in action this upcoming weekend as they take on New Jersey Cedar Stars Academy at the Red Bulls Training Facility in Whippany, New Jersey.
