Dax McCarty had another phenomenal match for the New York Red Bulls against the Chicago Fire. Let's take the time to highlight his key passes that led to a 3-2 win.
First, check out the cross-field switch he played to Lloyd Sam that set up the tying goal in the 38th minute.
Pretty nifty, Dax. Pretty nifty.
But wait... there's more!
How about this pass that resulted in a penalty call? Sacha Kljestan would go on to convert, putting the Red Bulls up 3-2.
Neither pass will show up on the stat sheet as assists, but Dax's vision and creativity are an underrated part of his game. If only there was a certain other team that could use his combination of defensive and offensive abilities. Some sort of team made up of Americans that competes against teams made up of players from other countries, a team that could probably use a good defensive midfielder right now. The kind of team who has a coach that likes defensive midfielders who can spray the ball around.
Which only leaves me with one question.
Are you watching, Klinsmann?
ARE YOU WATCHING, KLINSMANN?
ARE. YOU. WATCHING. KLINSMANN?
Because you should be.
