(A roundup of Sky Blue FC players playing abroad this winter)
Sarah Killion didn't score at all in her rookie campaign with Sky Blue FC. But it took her only one game in the Australian W-League to open her account with Adeliade United. Killion, who was a holding midfielder in her first year with the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), scored in the 41st minute to help her side climb out of a 2-0 hole and eventually draw with Western Sydney Wanderers, 2-2.
In other Week 1 play, Australian internationals Caitlin Foord and Sam Keer provided the scoring as Perth Glory, the defending league champions, came from behind to beat the Melbourne Victory, 2-1. Foord scored right before halftime to bring Perth level. Kerr, a top scorer for both Sky Blue and Perth, netted the game-winner in the 69th minute.
Fortuna Hjorring of the Danish Leauge, is 2-0 in UEFA Champions League play, advancing past Minsk by a 6-0 aggregate. The victories enabled Fortuna Hjorring to advance to the Round of 16.
Nadia Nadim, who scored five times for Sky Blue this summer, already has three goals in tournament play. Audrey Bledsoe, backup goalkeeper for Sky Blue in 2015, has been in goal for both victories, allowing no goals.
Fortuna Hjorring is also tied with Brondby at the top of Denmark's Elitedivsionen. The two clubs drew today, 2-2. Nadim scored one of her team's goals.
