Bradley Wright-Phillips voted MLS Player of Week 26

Two goals and an assist against a old rival and current co-contender for the Eastern Conference title gets you some attention.

Don't worry, you don't have to vote for this one. Of course, we would like your support for Bradley Wright-Phillips in MLS's Goal of the Week competition. And Sacha Kljestan for MLS Player of the Month. And if you're in voting mood, why not pick a favorite for our lamentably late-running RBNY Goal of the Month - June Edition? AND our not-quite-as-late RBNY Goal of the Month - Grella July Edition. (Just click on the links, the polls will open in new tabs, and you can carry on reading.)

No vote required for MLS Player of the Week, however. The league sorts that out for us, and the winner for Week 26 is our very own BWP (also on the official MLS Team of the Week.) Two goals this week made him the third-highest scorer of all time for the New York Red Bulls (and MetroStars).

Congratulations, BWP. A well-deserved accolade for a milestone week on the way to what increasingly looks like a legendary RBNY career.
