Bradley Wright-Phillips is having a very good season for the New York Red Bulls. Again. He's the team's top scorer (14 goals from 29 appearances in all competitions), and with nine assists he is on the cusp of being the first RBNY player to record double-digit goals and assists in a single season since Thierry Henry. The answer to the question of who would replace Henry's productivity in the Red Bulls' lineup turns out to be the man it was suggested would fade away without Titi to feed him scoring chances.
Still, despite his impressive transformation from the team's best goal-scorer to its best all-around goal-getter, one prize has eluded BWP all season. He has won MLS Goal of the Week. He has won Player of the Week. But he has never won Once A Metro's Goal of the Month competition. Until now.
BWP's emphatic conversion of Mike Grella's cross ran away with the MLS Goal of Week 26 vote. And it ran away with OaM's GotM vote too. 88% of voters chose BWP's effort as the RBNY Goal of the Month of August 2015.
