According to a report from Kristian Dyer, former New York Red Bulls player and coach Mike Petke has interviewed to be the top man in Chicago. The Chicago Fire, whom New York defeated on Sunday to clinch the Supporters' Shield, have been under the control of interim helm of Brian Bliss, the club's technical director, since the dismissal of Frank Yallop.
Petke, who's firing from the Red Bulls led to a ttense town hall meeting, had most recently been rumored to return to the club in a role "to be determined". His coaching resume lists a 34-23-25 record, including the Bulls' first Supporters' Shield in 2013.
With 30 points for the entirety of the 2015 season, the last place Fire could certainly use the services of Mr. Petke.
For the eight teams that have missed out on the postseason, now is the time to strike; lest be mired in misery for the coming season.
