Luis Robles wins MLS Save of Week 23

We did it!

Well, Luis Robles did it. Specifically, he pulled off a very fine save against NYC FC in Week 23 of the MLS regular season, denying Mix Diskerud a goal and keeping the New York Red Bulls level in a game they were struggling to keep pace with in the early stages.

It was an important save in the context of the match, and sufficiently impressive to garner Robles a Save of the Week nomination.

And then you, click-happy RBNY fans and connoisseurs of good goalkeeping, did the rest. Robles won 36.51% of the vote and claimed MLS's Save of Week 23.

Well done, Luis! Well done, voters.

Robles has about a day to celebrate his triumph before Toronto FC turns up at Red Bull Arena with the winner of the Week 23 Goal of the Week vote and runaway league MVP front-runner, Sebastian Giovinco. And Jozy Altidore. And Michael Bradley. Could be another busy match ahead for the Red Bulls' 'keeper.
